Calendar and replies

10 questions and answers about “Calendar and replies” in Football First, the app for football clubs and youth academies.

How do I say whether my child is coming to training or a match?

For parents and players

In the Calendar open the session and under Coming? choose Going, Maybe or Can't. A parent answers for each child separately; a player with their own login answers for themselves.

The coach sees replies straight away. You can change your answer until the session starts. Cancelled sessions take no replies.

Why can't I change my reply?

For parents and players

Replies close when the session starts, and cancelled sessions take no replies. If something changed at the last minute, tell the coach in Chat (parents write in the Parents chat).

How do I find out a training was moved or cancelled?

For parents and players

You get a notification under the bell, often with a note from the coach (e.g. "We start 30 minutes later"). In the Calendar a cancelled session is marked Cancelled and a moved one shows the new time.

How do I schedule a training, match or meeting?

For coaches and staff

In the Calendar click New event. Choose the type (training, match, meeting), team, title, date, start, duration and place. For a match enter the opponent, e.g. "FK Vitez (away)".

After Create, players and parents see it straight away and can reply whether they are coming.

How do I create weekly repeating trainings?

For coaches and staff

In the New event form, under Repeat choose the weekdays (e.g. Tuesday and Thursday) and an Until date. The app shows how many sessions this makes and when the last one is.

A series can have at most 200 sessions and last at most a year. Each session can later be edited or cancelled on its own.

How do I move or cancel a training or match?

For coaches and staff

Open the session and click Edit to change time, place or title. You can add an explanation in Message to players and parents.

To cancel, click Cancel event and optionally give a reason (e.g. "The pitch is closed"). If it goes ahead after all, click Take place after all.

Players and parents get an in-app notification either way.

Where do I see who is coming?

For coaches and staff

In the Calendar every session shows how many players are coming and how many haven't replied. When you open the session, Who is coming and attendance lists every player with their reply (Going, Maybe, Can't or No reply).

When a player or parent replies, the coach (and anyone who takes attendance for the team) gets a notification with the name and the new count. It is always one notification per session that updates, so the phone doesn't buzz for every reply.

How do I record attendance at training?

For coaches and staff

Open the training. Under Who is coming and attendance players are already marked from their replies. After training set each one to Present, Late or Absent and click Save attendance.

You can still correct it later. Coaches and the team manager record it.

What does the "pitch already taken" warning mean?

For coaches and staff

If another team already has a session at the same place (and the same part of it, e.g. "side pitch") at the same time, the session form shows it before saving, for every date of a series too. You can still save, but the coaches should agree on a change.

So always write the place the same way, e.g. "City stadium, side pitch".

What is the Club week?

For coaches and staffFor the club admin

Club week shows every session of the week, grouped by age group. The admin and sporting director see the whole club and every pitch clash; a coach sees their teams and the other teams of the same age group.
