Running the club

6 questions and answers about “Running the club” in Football First, the app for football clubs and youth academies.

How do I post an announcement for the whole club or one team?

For coaches and staffFor the club admin

Open Announcements → New announcement, write a title and the text, and choose:

  • for whom: the whole club or one or more teams;
  • who gets it: players, parents and/or staff.

Everyone chosen gets a notification (on their phone too if they turned that on). Pin to the top keeps an important one up top.

Who may post is up to the club admin, per person, in Logins & passwords → What they may do: Announcements for their teams (coaches and managers have it from the start) and Announcements for the whole club (nobody has it until the admin ticks it). The admin can always post.

On your own announcements you see Read by X of Y; tap it to see who hasn't read it yet. When you edit one, Notify everyone again sends a new notification.

How do I set what a coach or manager may do?

For the club admin

In Logins & passwords click What they may do next to the person. Tick what they may do in their teams:

  • Calendar and roster (edit)
  • Attendance and match report
  • Announcements for their teams
  • Announcements for the whole club (and any team)
  • Notes
  • Tactics board
  • Fees and records (view)
  • Registration and medical exams (mark)
  • Player and parent logins

Quick pick (Everything, Like a team manager, Nothing) sets the ticks at once. Someone with changed rights shows the tag own rights, and Back to the role's default undoes it. You choose the same ticks when creating a login. The club admin can always do everything.

How do I switch off a part of the app the club doesn't use?

For the club admin

On the Club page, under Parts of the app, switch off what you don't need: Fees and records, Health, Chat, Notes or Tactics board.

A switched-off part disappears from the menu for everyone, but nothing is deleted: switch it back on and all the data is there.

How do I set the club crest and colours?

For the club admin

On the Club page choose Crest & colours. Upload the crest (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG up to 512 KB; a square one on a transparent background looks best) and pick a main and second colour, or click Take colours from the crest. The change applies to everyone at once.

Where do I see who changed what?

For the club admin

On Club → Activity log are the latest changes in the club: who created a login, changed a password or rights, cancelled a session and so on.

Can a club have several admins?

For the club admin

Yes. In Users and passwords → New login → Coach / staff choose the role club admin. An admin always signs in with a real email.

A club must keep at least one admin with an email, so the last one can't be removed.
